🌿1 cup chana dal
🌿Water
🌿1 tablespoon Ghee 
🌿4 Cloves
🌿1 inch Cinnamon stick
🌿½ teaspoon Mustard seeds
🌿½ teaspoon Cumin seeds
🌿⅛ teaspoon Hing (Asafoetida)
🌿7-8 Curry leaves
🌿¼ teaspoon Ginger crushed
🌿1 Green chili finely chopped
🌿Black pepper    
🌿2 tablespoons Jaggery (Gur)
🌿2 Tbs dhai
🌿2 tablespoons coriander leaves finely chopped
🌿1/4 tomato chopped
🌿Salt to taste
Instructions 
🌿Wash chana dal in running cold water until water runs clear.
🌿Add dal in pressure cooker ad add 4 cups of water.
Close the lid of the pressure cooker. 
🌿Put the whistle on. Turn on the heat on medium. 
🌿Let it cook for 2 whistles. 
🌿Turn off the gas and let the pressure go down by itself.
🌿Then open the lid and separate the water and dal.       
We are going to use water & small amount  of cooked dal. 
🌿Keep the dal for puran poli.
🌿Heat the ghee in a pan on medium heat.
🌿Once hot add cloves and cinnamon sticks. Let it cook a little bit.
🌿Then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Let them sizzle.
🌿Then add asafoetida, curry leaves and 
🌿 add the cooking water &cooked dal. Mix well.
🌿Then add ginger , chopped green chilies, jaggery, salt .
Let it cook on low heat for 15 minutes.
Then add dhai and coriander’s leaves.
Serve wit puran poli .
